Gracia eager to get going

Malaga Coach Javi Gracia is excited for the new season as his side prepare to get started against Sevilla.

Gracia will be on the bench as Los Rojiblancos visit La Rosaleda on Friday evening and he spoke to the Press about the work that has gone in at the club over the summer.

“We’ve been preparing for 50 days for a competition that starts [on Friday],” he said, Marca reports.

“We live for competition and that’s what the matches are. The players are very excited. We know we face someone difficult. We’re eager to start.

“I’m eager to start, to see the team compete. The players look good. I hope our good work translates into a good game.

“We have to show our desire and our hope on the first day.

“Sevilla have conceded a lot of goals [in summer fixtures] but they have scored a lot too. We’ll see the Sevilla that qualified for the Champions League.

“We felt good in pre-season but it’s to be seen if we continue to see a good version of ourselves. The team looks good to me.”
