Marcelo has revealed that he hopes to see Carlo Ancelotti stay on Real Madrid’s Coach next season.
The Coach has been heavily linked with a summer exit from the Santiago Bernabeu after a campaign that provided no major silverware, but speaking after Sunday’s 4-1 win at Espanyol, the left-back was keen to continue working under the Italian.
“[Our dip in form] had nothing to do with the Club World Cup,” he told reporters.
“We fought until the end, but this is football and we must start thinking about next season.
“I hope Ancelotti can continue. He’s a great Coach and has given a lot to us.
“We didn’t win any titles, but we need to start getting ready for next season.”
