Madrid consider Lloris option

Real Madrid could turn to Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper Hugo Lloris in their search for a top-class goalkeeper for next season.

Los Blancos are reportedly looking to bring in a replacement for Iker Casillas and are understood to have made Manchester United’s David de Gea their first choice.

However, if the Red Devils manage to persuade the Spain international to remain at Old Trafford for at least one more season the European champions are ready to raid Spurs with an offer for the Frenchman.

Lloris, 28, has been in impressive form at White Hart Lane this season and, reports the Daily Telegraph, he would be open to a transfer to the Spanish capital and the chance to play Champions League football next season.

Casillas’ understudy Keylor Navas is allegedly perceived as no more than reliable cover for Casillas, who has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer despite his claims he would like to see out the remaining two years on his contract.

Lloris joined the Premier League outfit from Lyon in summer 2012 for a reported €12.6m and is also highly regarded by countryman and Real Madrid reserve team Coach Zinedine Zidane.
