Madrid & Barca to learn CL fate

Real Madrid and Barcelona will discover their Champions League semi-final opponents at today’s draw in Nyon.

Los Blancos defeated cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid 1-0 on aggregate to reach the final four while Barca had a comfortable passage having disposed of Paris Saint-Germain 5-1 over two legs.

Serie A giants Juventus and German champions Bayern Munich are the other two sides in the draw, with the four teams boasting 21 European Cup final successes between them: Real Madrid 10, Bayern five, Barcelona four and Juventus two.

The pairings could throw up the possibility of an all-Spanish affair between Barca and holders Madrid, while if the Catalans pull Juve out of the hat it raises the prospect of Luis Suarez facing Giorgio Chiellini for the first time since the biting incident with the Italian defender at last year’s World Cup in Brazil.

The draw takes place at 11:00 BST, shortly before the Europa League draw, where Sevilla will learn if they face either Dnipro, Napoli or Fiorentina.
