Besiktas tempt Beto

Turkish outfit Besiktas are understood to have made an offer to tempt Sevilla goalkeeper Beto to the club.

The 32-year-old’s contract at the Sanchez Pizjuan expires in June and he is currently in talks with the Sevilla hierarchy to extend his agreement.

However, reports in Turkey claim he has received a significant financial offer from Besiktas that has resulted in discussions with his Andalusian employers being put on hold.

Beto was instrumental in Sevilla’s Europa League success last season but has struggled with injury this term, which has seen the emergence of youth team player Sergio Rico between the sticks.

Sevilla President Jose Castro said recently that talks with the player were “on track”, but Rico’s fine form has caused boss Unai Emery to consider his options regarding the No 1 jersey and he may be willing to let Beto leave.
