Cordoba eye Juventus midfielder

Cordoba are among a number of clubs that have contacted Juventus regarding midfielder Luca Marrone, according to reports in Italy.

The Andalusians fancy taking the 24-year-old on loan as he has been unable to force his way into Massimiliano Allegri’s plans this term, having had to be content with a place on the bench.

Marrone was initially part of Juve’s plans prior to the start of the 2013-14 campaign but was sold on a co-ownership agreement to newly-promoted Sassuolo, where he was limited to just 15 Serie A starts before injuries cut short his season.

However, the co-ownership agreement between the clubs was renewed in June 2014, Sassuolo retaining Marrone’s playing rights, only for him to return to Juventus two weeks later after they bought out the remaining 50 per cent of his contract in a deal worth €5m.

Having signed a five-year deal with Juventus, the Italians would look favourably on him developing his career in Spain with Cordoba, who are hopeful of securing his capture this week.
