Nuno banking on home form

Nuno Santo was happy to see Valencia maintain their good home record after a hard-fought win over Almeria.

Los Che eventually triumphed 3-2 in an end-to-end encounter, Alvaro Negredo netting the winner with seven minutes to play.

Nuno was clear that Valencia’s performance deserved three points, telling reports post-match that if his side hadn’t been victorious, it would have been a black mark against the sport.

“[If Valencia didn’t win] it would have been a lie of football. Our attack was tremendous,” he said, AS reports.

“Now we must work on the errors of the goals, both the players and the time they occurred.

“It is important to keep the winning streak at home, which has been crucial in the first half of the League.”

Nuno also confirmed Antonio Barragan has picked up an injury and appeared conciliatory towards Joao Pereira, suggesting the defender could return to the fold having previously been banished.
