Emery defends Sevilla players

Unai Emery defended his 'blameless' Sevilla players following their 2-0 defeat to Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday.

The champions of Europe's second tier were leapfrogged by the Dutch outfit in Group G as a result of their loss in Rotterdam, but the Coach is remaining upbeat ahead of his side’s qualification decider with Rijeka in a fortnight’s time.

"It was a bad game and a bad result, but players had [the right] attitude. I can't blame them for anything," he told Cadena SER.

"We will fight for first place until the last day, and we hope to keep our dreams in the Europa League and La Liga alive and stay close to the Champions League positions.

"I'm confident that the defeat to Feyenoord will serve as a learning curve."
