Ancelotti: Renewal under way

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that talks with Real Madrid over a contract extension have already begun.

The Italian Coach led Los Blancos to a Champions League and Copa del Rey double last season, thus ending the side's pursuit of the much-coveted La Decima.

Ancelotti was only appointed a year ago, but he is already planning on writing a legacy which goes far beyond his initial successes at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I hope to be in Madrid's history, not only for la Decima. I have a contract until 2016 and we are already discussing my renewal," he admitted to La Repubblica.

"Real are a very well-structured club. The members elect the president every four years, and he becomes a tool of control.

"Here, there is no single benefactor but a formidable management team. Real want the best, and consequently the game gets better.

"I hope to be a world champion with Real. The Club World Cup in Morocco won't be easy because of the probable semi-final with Cruz Azul.

"I like being called the 'tamer of champions', but true champions don't need to be tamed.

"They are the most serious and the most professional, just look at Cristiano Ronaldo."

Ancelotti also addressed comparisons with his Madrid predecessor Jose Mourinho, the lavish sums of money spent by his employers, the debate about international matches hindering club campaigns and Lionel Messi.

"Mourinho and I are different. We handle each situations in accordance with our character. In any case Mourinho is a great Coach,” he added.

"Why would I complain [about excessive fees]? Bale is one of the best and, when he's fit, always plays. James doesn't have just technical qualities. He's also an athlete with great endurance.

"In 12 months, I've lost Khedira and Modric [because of international matches], and in the last 16 months, I've seen 13 players come back injured.

"International activity could be moved to the end of the regular season.

"Messi to Madrid? It's a rhetorical question. Messi will stay where he is because he's one of Barcelona's symbols. We have Casillas, Ramos or Cristiano, while they have Busquets, Iniesta or Messi."
