‘Spain v Germany isn’t a friendly’

Former Celta Vigo and Real Madrid forward Joselu, now at Hannover, has warned Spain about a number of lesser-known Germany players.

La Roja host Die Mannschaft in Vigo on Tuesday in a match pitting the former World Cup winners against the current holders of the trophy.

Joselu has said the meeting of the last two world champions could never be a friendly and picked out a couple of threats.

“Germany are a very strong team. They’ve maintained the team that won the World Cup. They’ve got a lot of movement in attack and produce magic,” he commented, Marca reports.

“There’ll be players in Balaidos who aren’t known by name but will be talked about. Karim Berallabi is having a great year in the Bundesliga. Jonas Hector, of Koln, is also a great player.

“This isn’t considered a friendly in Germany. It’s a game between the last two world champions and both are out to win.

“In Germany you have to play with great intensity. In the Bundesliga there is a lot of pressing throughout the game.

“Spain have to concentrate, steal the ball and play as they know how. It will be a great game.”
