La Real to confirm new Coach

Real Sociedad will on Monday confirm the appointment of a new Coach with David Moyes and Pepe Mel the only candidates remaining.

Sporting director Loren has confirmed talks with both the former Manchester United manager and the ex-West Bromwich Albion Coach and reports over the weekend claimed Moyes would be the successor to Jagoba Arrasate.

Moyes is still the first choice, AS report, and the job is his to turn down, with La Real waiting on the Scot’s response. Moyes has accepted the contract offer and is ready to work with the club but the question of moving his family to Spain is holding up the deal.

That is why Mel remains on the agenda and there is the possibility that the club have asked Mel to get ready to take the job, to ensure they aren’t caught short should Moyes decide not to take his family out of England.

“It is true we have spoken to Mel and Moyes. “It will be Monday that the identity of the new Coach is known,” Loren said after Sunday’s win over Atletico Madrid.

Asier Santana took the team for the victory against the champions but has said he is to return to working with the youth team.

There isn’t expected to be a delay in naming the Coach – be it Moyes or Mel – and the new man will take training on Monday afternoon before he is formally presented on Tuesday.
