Alvaro Arbeloa is not confident of keeping his place for El Clasico despite a good performance against Liverpool on Wednesday.
The Real Madrid defender, speaking to El Larguero following the Champions League clash at Anfield, believes boss Carlo Ancelotti will restore Dani Carvajal to the right-back position for Saturday’s game with Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“If I’m honest I think he will play Dani. Looking at how the boss changes the team around I reckon he will put Carvajal in.
“However, if I have to come on to defend in the second half because we are winning then that will be a good sign, although if you told me now we’d win the game and I didn’t play then I’d take that,” said Arbeloa, who said he found it odd going back to former club Liverpool.
“It was strange to be one of the enemy, going up and down the dressing room steps knowing I was going out to play against them,” he said.
