Ancelotti: Madrid focused & serious

Carlo Ancelotti has praised Real Madrid’s mindset ahead of the Clasico and the Champions League tie with Liverpool following the win over Levante.

Los Blancos put five past Les Granotes at Ciutat de Valencia, with Cristiano Ronaldo getting a brace and Javier Hernandez, James Rodriguez, and Isco also on target.

The five goals took Madrid to a total of 30 since they lost the derby to Atletico Madrid earlier in the season and Ancelotti was asked how the team has managed such form.

“We’re on a good run but we have to remember that behind the goals is sacrifice, hard work and concentration,” he said, AS reports.

“There are no goals without sacrifice and concentration. The best understand that. We’ve come here in good physical and mental condition.

“The players have shown they are a very competitive squad. Physically they’re all good and they’re motivated.

“The pace of the team was good and the players have all done very well.”

Ancelotti was asked how Madrid are shaping for a week that pits them against the Reds and Barca, and the Coach feels his side is ready for the challenge.

“I think we’re good. This was a difficult game to prepare for but we are focused and serious and it has gone well,” he continued.

“Now we have time to recover and prepare the players for Wednesday’s game against Liverpool.”

Asked for his thoughts on Ronaldo, who continues to score at a rapid rate, Ancelotti replied that his focus is on maintaining the Portuguese’s goals.

“What he does is impossible. He has to continue with his condition and we will help to keep it that way,” he said.
