Arrasate happy with narrow win

Jagoba Arrasate was pleased with Real Sociedad’s 1-0 win over Krasnodar in their Europa League play-off meeting.

A second half goal from Xabi Prieto means La Real take a slender lead to Russia for next week’s second leg, an important factor, according to the Coach.

Arrasate did admit, however, that his side should perhaps be in a more comfortable position, considering the way in which the game proceeded.

“Yes, but they also had a clear chance, so we are happy with the result and the image we offered,” AS reports him as saying.

“Now we must finish what we started here in Russia. We have seen that this is a tie between two good teams and is very open.

“I agree it will be a hard-fought and open game there. Krasnodar have proven to be a good team and we will have to struggle to get something out of Russia.

“It’s true it’s a good result but it doesn’t guarantee we’re going to go through. I said before the game we had two games to go.

“I’m sure if we do the same as we did tonight in Russia and we approach our level, we’ll be closer to winning the tie.”
