Barcelona and Brazil forward Neymar wants to see teammates Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano lift the World Cup on Sunday.
Brazil and Argentina are fierce rivals but Neymar has told a Press conference that the happiness of his club colleagues trumps the animosity between La Selecao and La Albiceleste.
“A Brazilian encouraging Argentina,” he reflected, according to AS.
“I always want the best for my teammates. I hope they win for Mascherano and Messi. They deserve to be world champions and I will support them.”
Argentina progressed to the final after a penalty shootout win over the Netherlands and will play Germany, conquerors of Brazil.
Neymar also spoke about his back injury suffered in the quarter-final win over Colombia, revealing that he was very close to being in a wheelchair as a result of Camilo Zuniga’s tackle.
