Negredo wants Atleti offer

Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo is hopeful that Atletico Madrid make a move for him this summer.

AS reports the striker as growing unhappy with the Premier League champions after he fell out of favour for the second half of the season, and his relationship with manager Manuel Pellegrini is said to be frosty as well.

Negredo is said to have told Atletico that he would move to Vicente Calderon if they can agree terms with City, who want to recoup the €25m they paid Valencia a year ago.

He also hopes to regain his place in the Spain squad, having been left out of the World Cup trip, while a close friendship with Koke is also a factor.

Atletico are said to be focused on the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, however, and the Belgium international is the priority of the champions given the amount of competition they face for his signature.

Mario Mandzukic is another player on Atletico’s agenda, on the same shortlist as Lukaku and Negredo.
