Malaga seal Pablo Perez deal

Malaga have sealed an agreement to sign midfielder Pablo Perez from Newell’s Old Boys subject to a Tuesday medical.

The 28-year-old [pictured, left], who is a product of the Argentine outfit’s youth academy, is set to pen a three-year deal at La Rosaleda and will cost €950, 000.

However, Perez will be unable to make his Los Blanquiazules debut against Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia next Sunday due to two reasons.

Firstly, according to AS, Malaga still have to pay Martin Demichelis €400,000 in wages owed from last season with their former player having denounced the club to the Spanish Footballers’ Association, who have refused to sanction the transfer until the outstanding amount is settled.

In addition, Perez himself is finalising paperwork to become a European citizen, with Malaga already having the permitted quota of foreign players on their books in Weligton, Roberto Chen and Pedro Morales.
