Sacchi warns Pogba over Madrid, Barca

Arrigo Sacchi has advised Juventus star Paul Pogba to stay with the club in light of Real Madrid and Barcelona’s reported interest in him.

The Spanish giants have been repeatedly linked with a bid for the 20-year-old midfielder, who has seen his career take off since joining La Vecchia Signora from Manchester United in summer 2012 after a lack of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford.

However, legendary Italian Coach Sacchi, who has experience of La Liga having been in charge of Atletico Madrid in the late nineties and director of football at Real Madrid for the 2004-05 season, believes the French international should continue his development in Serie A.

“Paul has a lot of quality and has been lucky to arrive at Juventus at the right time,” Sacchi told Tuttosport.

“Juventus are an example of a team that multiplies the quality of the individual. When you are feeling well at a club you should not leave, because €1m more or less doesn't make someone richer or poorer.

“A player should primarily think about his career and there are plenty of instances of big players switching clubs for higher wages then flopping with their new team.”
