Spain confirm South Africa date

The Spanish national team have been confirmed as returning to Johannesburg next month for a friendly with South Africa.

La Roja will return to Soccer City stadium on November 19, the stadium where in July 2010 they defeated the Netherlands 1-0 to lift the World Cup.

The Spanish Football Federation report that they had promised South African officials, after their success, that they would return to the country for a friendly ‘in the same way as was done in returning to Vienna after Euro 2008’.

The RFEF have confirmed that Vicente del Bosque’s side will travel out to Johannesburg for the international friendly with Bafana Bafana just a few days before they are obligated to return the World Cup trophy, via captain Iker Casillas, to FIFA.
