Madrid, PSG set for January friendly

Real Madrid will reportedly face Paris Saint-Germain in an early January friendly in Dubai, just at the end of the winter break.

As part of the deal that released Coach Carlo Ancelotti to Los Blancos in the summer, it is understood that PSG have negotiated to face Madrid in midseason.

Reports in Spain today suggest that the two clubs will meet in Dubai for the game, with a provisional date of Thursday January 2 set.

Coming just two days before Week 18 of La Liga ends the winter break, this game could mark Madrid’s participation in the Dubai Football Challenge, announced in the summer as part of their new sponsorship deal agreed with Fly Emirates.

PSG are owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, are also sponsored by Fly Emirates and took part in the annual competition in January 2012 with a one-off friendly against Milan.
