Madrid agree €120m Bale fee

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a world record €120m transfer fee with Tottenham to sign Gareth Bale.

The Spanish outfit have been tracking the Welshman this summer and have increasingly been linked with a bid for his services, even as Spurs were seen to be playing hardball and resisting all approaches.

On from the belief in recent days that the player has asked for talks with Los Blancos, AS today report that the Premier League side have agreed a fee for his possible move.

It is understood that a verbal agreement now exists that Los Blancos will pay €120m this summer for the 24-year-old, which would stand to break the transfer fee world record currently held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who cost Madrid €96m in 2009.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly asked that the English club choose when to make official the news, out of a desire to first close on three planned arrivals, including Valencia’s Roberto Soldado.

Tottenham play in a friendly this Saturday against Monaco and it is currently uncertain whether he will feature.
