Lionel Messi has revealed that Barcelona used the disappointment of the Champions League to overcome Sevilla in La Liga.
The Blaugrana beat Unai Emery's men 2-1 on Saturday, thanks to late goals from David Villa and the Argentine forward.
But the 25-year-old has conceded that the loss to Milan in Europe last Wednesday will fuel them for vital matches in the upcoming weeks – including a Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid.
“It was hard not to think of Milan,” he told reporters after the match yesterday evening. “We know we did not have our best game at San Siro.
“But we will use it going forward.
“Against Madrid we will have to give our best against an incredible opponent.”
