Former Valencia boss Rafael Benitez has been appointed as Chelsea Coach after Roberto Di Matteo was sacked this morning.
The Spanish tactician will be given until the end of the season to turn the Blues' campaign around, after they all but crashed out of the Champions League last night with a 3-0 loss to Juventus.
A statement from the Chelsea board read - “The owner and the board believe that in Benitez we have a manager with significant experience at the highest level, who can come in and immediately help deliver our objectives.
“He is due to meet the players at the training ground tomorrow.”
