Silva: No Madrid or Barca clause

David Silva has denied there is a clause in his new Manchester City contract allowing him to leave for either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Silva signed an extension to his current agreement at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month and has committed his future to the Sky Blues until June 2017.

However, he has moved quickly to assure City fans that there is nothing in the rumours that stipulates the deal allows him to move to one of the Spanish giants should they come calling.

“I renewed my contract because I am happy here,” Silva told Radio Cope. “I hope we will continue to improve and fight for more trophies.

“At the moment I am thinking about that, not about the future, just about continuing to play, enjoying myself and trying to win titles.

“There is no clause in my contract allowing me to leave for Madrid or Barcelona,” he stated categorically.
