Real Madrid star suffers racist abuse during Mallorca clash

Racist incidents have become more and more common in Spanish football over the last few years, and unfortunately, another took place during Real Madrid’s victory over Mallorca on Saturday evening.

Movistar+ cameras captured the moment that a home supporter aimed a monkey gesture in the direction of Aurelien Tchouameni, who was celebrating his wondergoal alongside the rest of his teammates at Son Moix.

It wasn’t even the only lamentable incident to take place during Real Madrid’s celebrations, as a bottle was thrown in the direction of the players. Captain Nacho Fernandez and Antonio Rudiger were furious about that, and made their feelings known to the referee at that time.

The Tchouameni incident is another shocker in Spanish football’s latest wave of racist episodes involving its players. Lamine Yamal was the victim in midweek after a very poor comment from Mono Burgos, and now it has happened with the Real Madrid midfielder. More needs to be done to stop this from happening.
