Bayern winger’s callup was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Real Madrid man

Despite the fact that there have been La Liga games this weekend, a huge amount of the focus of the press in Spain has been on the upcoming international break – more specifically Brahim Diaz’s decision to play for Morocco and reject Spain.

According to the player himself, it was just a question of doing what he felt was right. But a report in AS this morning claims that the midfielder would have liked to play for Spain, he just grew tired of waiting for a callup for a competitive game.

Apparently the way that Bryan Zaragoza was fast tracked into the squad back in September didn’t sit well with Diaz and his camp, who felt they had been bypassed.

The Spanish football federation had gone to great lengths to get players like Lamine Yamal to play with them, and Diaz felt he had not had the same treatment, despite having been a key player for AC Milan in their title win.

  1. Truth be told, B. Diaz didn’t reject Spain but the Espagne neglected him and he boarded the next available flight for a better future 😉
