Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler has had a tough season so far, defined by injuries and frustration at his lack of game time once he has been fit. However he got a few more minutes against Osasuna, and showed just why the one thing in doubt is not his talent.
With Real Madrid 4-2 up and cruising in stoppage time, Guler turned away from his defender and escaped the intended foul, before launching the ball from just inside the half. His effort saw Herrera sprinting back and he cracked the top of the crossbar. He was only robbed of an assist by Fede Valverde fluffing his lines in front of an open goal, having done everything perfectly all match until that point.

There has been talk of Guler going out on loan next summer, in search of more minutes, but the Turkish teenager seems determined to stay and fight for his place. Against Osasuna, fans saw a glimpse of where that self-belief comes from.
