Erling Haaland refuses to rule out possibility of leaving Manchester City to join Real Madrid

Florentino Perez is determined to built the next instalment of the Galacticos. Kylian Mbappe is expected to finally join Real Madrid in the summer, while Alphonso Davies could also join an already star-studded squad. Despite this, Los Blancos do not look like stopping this business any time soon.

Another possible target in the future could be Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker has long been admired by Real Madrid, although they missed out on his signature in 2022 when he joined Manchester City, where he has been tearing it up over the last 18 months.

There has been talk of Los Blancos eyeing up a move for Haaland in 2025, when it’s reported that he has a release clause becoming active. The 23-year-old spoke on his future this week, ahead of Man City’s Champions League encounter with FC Copenhagen, as per Relevo.

“I’m very happy (at Man City), especially with the people around me. The coach, the bosses, the board of directors, I have to say I’m very happy. If I say this now, this will probably be the headline: tomorrow you never know what the future will bring. But I’m happy. You can write this, but you also have to write down everything I said before. I’m happy.”

Haaland’s possible arrival at Real Madrid would feel like an embarrassment of riches, but it’s one that Perez would surely move to make a reality. However, for the time being at least, nothing is likely to happen, especially as Haaland is very happy in Manchester.
