Barcelona hoping for around €9m salary limit windfall from sale amid registration issues

Barcelona only have 13 players currently registered with La Liga, and with just five days remaining until their debut against Getafe, will be keen to bring in some money.

One of those thirteen players is Franck Kessie, but the Ivorian midfielder is likely to help in another way, potentially faciliating other players involvement. It is believed he is on the verge of a move to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, and MD put the fee at €11m, although some reports have gone as high as €15m.

Kessie will contribute nearly €9m in terms of cash that Barcelona can use for reigstering new players or contracts, with 20% of the profit they make available for use (€2.2m). They will also be able to use 50% of the money they save from Kessie’s deal, in this case €13m to date. That will contribute another €6.5m, adding up to €8.7m in total that they can put towards salaries and transfer fees in terms of their salary limit.

Barcelona also hope to close the sale of Ousmane Dembele imminently, and potentially another economic lever. While the club maintain they will have all of their players available for the start of their season, they have been down this road before without getting it all done.
