Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo’s overhead kick as ‘extraordinary’ and he ‘must be congratulated’.
The Italian tactician acknowledged the tie is now ‘impossible’ for his side but he took time to credit ‘the level’ of the Portuguese forward.
“I can’t tell you if Cristiano’s strike was the best ever in the history of football but it definitely was extraordinary,” Allegri told reporters after the match.
“You have to be in a position to congratulate him on the feats he is doing at present and acknowledge his level.
“I was disappointed with how we conceded the third goal as at that stage we were still in the tie, but that strike makes things impossible for us.
“A team does not win three Champions League titles in four years by a fluke and you can see again how Madrid are devastating with their final ball.
“Now all we can do is refocus on the league before thinking about our return game in Madrid.”
