La Liga bosses hit out at El Clasico postponement

The bosses of Real Betis and Real Valladolid have hit out at the decision to postpone El Clasico later this month.

Both clubs will face Real Madrid and Barcelona in the following weekend after the week in which the mammoth clash was due to be scheduled.

The cancellation of the game - pushed back to a currently unspecified date in December - leaves both the Blaugrana and Madrid with an extra week in which to prepare for their following league games compares to their opponents.

“That decision impacts us and three other teams - Valladolid, Levante and Leganes,” explained Betis Coach Rubi (pictured), in quotes cited by Marca.

“Our rivals, with the potential they have, are going to have one game less in a week where there will be three fixtures.

“This impacts on these games and it bothers me a lot.”

Real Valladolid boss Sergio Gonzalez added: “It is clear that El Clasico is hugely significant, but we are a team in La Liga too.”

Barcelona will host Valladolid three days after their free matchday and will then travel to Levante while Madrid play host to Leganes before also staging a home game against Real Betis that weekend.
