Real Madrid will renew their interest in signing Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek next year, according to Marca.
Van de Beek, 22, is a Dutch international who netted 17 goals last season, including the only goal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Tottenham.
It is said that the Dutch champions value the midfielder at €65m but Madrid did not want to pay in excess of €50m to secure his signature.
The latest report cites the player’s quotes to Dutch outlet Voetbal saying he will not transferring clubs in January, but did not rule out a summer move.
Van de Beek’s former Ajax teammate Frenkie de Jong joined Barcelona this summer in a €86m switch, while defender Matthijs de Ligt joined Juventus.
The central midfielder has spent the entirety of his professional career at the Amsterdam-based giants and has won international recognition for the Netherlands.
Madrid spent over €300m in transfer fees this summer with Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo Goes and Eder Militao among the arrivals.
