Atletico Madrid eye Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul

Atletico Madrid are eyeing the possibility of signing Argentina international Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese this summer, say reports.

The 25-year-old can play wide left or in a more central role and made a big impact in Serie A last season with nine goals and eight assists.

Diario AS cite a report from Calciomercato which claims De Paul has emerged as an alternative for Atleti to signing Dinamo Zagreb winger Dani Olmo.

De Paul has previous experience in La Liga as he was on Valencia’s books between the years of 2014 and 2016, scoring twice in 44 appearances for the club with a loan spell at Argentine club Racing inbetween.

Earlier this summer, the Corriere della Sera newspaper in Italy claimed that Milan enquired about De Paul’s availability and were told he’ll cost at least €40m.

He has also been linked with a quartet of Italian clubs this summer – Fiorentina, Torino and Napoli.
