POST MATCH: Dominant Barcelona power into the Champions League semi finals

Barcleona produced a dominant display in the Champions League quarter final second leg against Manchester United, winning 3-0 on the night to seal a 3-1 aggregate victory.

The Catalan side booked a semi final date with either Liverpool or Porto, as they brushed aside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side with ease at the Nou Camp thanks to an incredible performance from captain Lionel Messi.

With the two legged tie was finely poised after a narrow 1-0 win at Old Trafford a week ago, but two goals from Messi inside the first 20 minutes extinguished any chance of United making a comeback.

The visitors started brightly, with Marcus Rashford hitting the bar after just two minutes, but that was the closest the Premier League side came all night.

Messi opened the scoring on 16 minutes, winning a tussle with Ashley Young, before evading two United challenges to curl home into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Four minutes later, Messi had his second goal. Capitalising on some more slack defending he burst past Fred and guided a low effort around Phil Jones – with David De Gea fumbling the shot into the net.

Barcelona continued to press after the break, and Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho netted his first goal in five games – collecting Jordi Alba's pass 25 yards from goal and hammering home a spectacular effort into the top corner.
