Raphael Varane considering shock Real Madrid exit

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has informed the club he is considering his future, according to reports.

L'Equipe claim the France international has informed Los Blancos officials of his unwillingness to commit his future to the club and may be tempted by a move away.

The 25-year-old joined Madrid in 2011 from Lens and has made 268 first-team appearances since, netting 12 goals and winning 16 trophies, including four Champions League crowns.

The central defender also helped his nation to last summer’s World Cup title and his future is now under scrutiny with the impending arrival of FC Porto defender Eder Militao at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Varane has long been a central defensive partner of Sergio Ramos in the Spanish capital but the individual form of a number of players has come under scrutiny this season.
