Depor confident on squad strength

Deportivo are confident of retaining the core of their squad despite relegation to La Liga 123 next season, say reports in the Spanish press.

According to Marca, Fede Cartabia, Pedro Mosquera, Emre Çolak, Fabian Schar, Luisinho, Borja Valle, Gerard Valentin and Guillherme have all indicated they will remain at the club.

Five loanees: Lucas Perez (Arsenal), Carles Gil (Aston Villa), Adrian Lopez (Porto), Federico Valverde (Real Madrid) and Zakaria Bakkali (Valencia) all look set to return to their parent clubs with a return to the Riazor unlikely.

Michael Krohn-Dehli, Sulley Muntari and Celso Borges all face uncertain futures, but club officials at Depor remain confident the bulk of their squad will stay in place.

There is also uncertainty surrounding the future of Coach Clarence Seedorf, who was appointed in February and despite a slow start has overseen a recent upturn in form, but too late to avoid the drop.
