Diego Lopez: Things went against us

Diego Lopez has claimed that ‘things went against us’ as Real Madrid drew 2-2 with Osasuna on Saturday.

Los Blancos came from behind to grab a point in Pamplona, but they had to do so without Sergio Ramos, who was sent off in the first half.

“We had some very clear chances to go ahead but then a lot of things went against us and that made it very complicated,” he told reporters.

“In the second half, when it was 2-1 and we had ten men, we fought for the game until the end. We have had a good run and have been defending well, and their goals came from isolated chances.

“We could have won but they also had some chances. It’s a pity because of the start of the game but we have to look ahead”.

The goalkeeper then responded to questions about the referee.

“They tell me that one of the cards shown to Ramos wasn’t even a foul, and what I did see clearly was the penalty on Modric. Sergio made two fouls and they weren’t brutal.

“They were just the typical fouls you make fighting the ball. These little details can change a game and this times things favoured Osasuna.

"We had to win. This is a complicated ground, we didn’t play our best game and things were influenced by the referees’ decisions.

“A penalty and the sending off a centre back change a game and especially at this ground. When the score is against you, it’s hard to come back from there.”
