Nolito expects no favours

Nolito has reflected that he expects no favouritism at Celta Vigo from Coach Luis Enrique, whilst he encourages Barcelona’s Rafinha to join him at Balaidos.

The striker, who was signed at the start of this month by Celta in a €2.5m deal from Benfica, reunites with former Coach Enrique.

Despite having spent three years together at Barcelona B, the 26-year-old has affirmed that he does not see it as an advantage in trying to break into the first XI.

“I spent three years with Luis Enrique, but that does not mean anything because the Coach will not show favouritism to anyone,” Nolito told reporters today.

“He is always going to go with those who train very well and who deserve to play.

“The Celta B team players currently training with us? I do not know much about them, but if they are training with the first team then it is because they have quality and potential, but that is for the Coach to decide.

“I have been three days here and I think that this is a very good group, with a good feeling between all the players.”

Nolito could be joined at Celta this season by Rafael Alcantara, also known as Rafinha, with the Galicians pushing to finalise a loan agreement from Barca.

“I came across him in my final year at Barca B. He was a very good player for us and he would be a great signing for Celta.

“Hopefully he can come because he would be a very good addition to the team.”
