A La Liga dominated FIFPro World XI has been announced, with every single player included plying their trade in Spain.

The XI, lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, is voted for by footballers around the globe, but remarkably no one from the Premier League, Serie A, the Bundesliga or indeed any other League has merited inclusion this year.

Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso and Cristiano Ronaldo all make the cut, as do Barcelona’s Dani Alves, Gerard Pique, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi. The only non Madrid/Barca player to feature is Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

All 11 were paraded on stage at the Ballon d’Or gala in Zurich earlier this evening, before Messi and Vicente del Bosque were presented with the Player and Coach of the Year awards respectively.
