Oltra: Depor to try everything

Jose Luis Oltra is fully aware of the gravity of Deportivo’s situation, after defeat to Espanyol on Thursday evening.

That 2-0 reverse at Cornella-El Prat leaves the Galicians rooted to the foot of the table, two points adrift of safety and at the moment having played a game more than the three teams immediately above them.

“While we are alive we will continue to get up, we are concerned about the situation and will do everything to change it,” Oltra told reporters after Week 17’s ended Depor’s calendar year on a winless streak of seven League games.

“It is difficult to criticise the players because I have confidence in how they are working. At the moment, it is good that there are many teams involved in the fight for survival, you always have the hope of getting out of there.

“We will fight to the end but we have many things to fix, and imminently. Has luck played its part? Today, for example, I would have liked to have played with two points [in the team], but I did not have them available.”
