Ramos: Ballesteros should change sports

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos said Levante skipper Sergio Ballesteros should change sports after the 2-1 win at Levante.

Ballesteros was involved in an alleged incident with Madrid’s Pepe after the game after the game and Ramos gave his version of events.

“Ballesteros always wants to be the centre of attention,” he told gathered media. “If he likes boxing more then he should change sports and dedicate himself to that rather than football.

“We are not bothered about it in the dressing room but there are people who don’t know how to accept defeat. There is always someone that does something.

“ We try to shy away from this and not lose our heads but we are already getting tired of unsportsmanlike behaviour. It’s not the first time this has happened with Juanlu and Ballesteros. They always do it.”

Asked about the penalty won by Jose Callejon that appeared to be outside the area, Ramos admitted he had not seen the television images and also refused to comment on David Navarro’s second minute elbow on Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I’d have to see the replay to see whether or not it was a penalty but I don’t want to enter into any more controversy.

“As for Cristiano, his eyebrow has opened up and he has had five stitches, but don’t ask me about that,” he insisted.
