Rivaldo again considering retiring

Former Deportivo and Barcelona forward Rivaldo is again on the verge of announcing his retirement from professional football.

The Brazilian is still playing at the age of 40, but has picked up a ‘bruised shoulder and rib’ during his last outing for Angolan side Kabuscorp.

With his side’s season set to end soon, the player took to his Twitter account to confirm that this could be the end of his 21-year playing career.

“I have to think of myself and if I should keep playing or if I should retire,” he posted today.

“The injury has caused strong pain, I collided with the goalkeeper. I’ll be out for seven to 10 days and I’ll have to do a lot of physiotherapy, so the season is almost over for me.”

Rivaldo previously took to his social networking account to criticise his Coach and threaten retirement back in September.
