Atletico Madrid are facing an anxious wait on how long they will be without Arda Turan, after the attacker’s sprained ankle was confirmed today.
The Turkish international returned home from representing his country this week with the injury and tests today confirmed the worst.
According to a brief statement posted on Atleti’s official website, the player has suffered “a sprained right ankle joint, affecting the posterior talar-fibular ligament.”
Turan is described as ‘waiting developments’ on the injury that will determine how long he will be out of action for.
