Rivaldo tips Barca win

Former Brazil star Rivaldo finds El Clasico hard to call, but gives the edge to his old club Barcelona.

The 40-year-old, who played for the Blaugrana from 1997 to 2002, returned to the Camp Nou today, posing for photos with many of the players and conducting an interview with Barca TV.

“It's a tough game, complicated,” he mused. “You never know what will happen because Real Madrid are a great team and have already won at the Camp Nou [in April].

“But playing at home, I think Barca can win.”

Remarkably Rivaldo is still going strong a decade after he left Barcelona, playing for Kabuscorp in Angola, but still finds time to watch his old club's matches.

“I now enjoy their football on TV. They are a great team and hopefully they can win more titles.

“I really like Lionel Messi as a person. I like players to be humble like him, and I think all of Barcelona’s players are.

“Tito Vilanova is doing a great job, and has a very good chance of success.”

Barca aim to maintain or extend their eight point La Liga lead when they welcome eternal rivals Real to Camp Nou on Sunday, with kick off at 19.50 local time.
