Mou: I hate my social life

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho says an inaccurate public perception of him is ruining his life away from the game.

The Merengues Coach made the comments in a revealing interview with American TV network CNN.

“I hate my social life. I hate not being a normal father who goes to watch his son play football. People come to have pictures, to ask for autographs, but others go behind the goal and insult my 12-year-old son.

“People think they know me, but it is not so. People know the Coach. For 90 minutes I'm there to win, fun is a consequence. I'm there to do my job, I'm there and I live every game as if it was the last of my career.

“So people look at me and see what they see.”

The former Inter tactician is famed for his controversial comments and mind games in press conferences, but insists his performances in front of the media don't reflect his personality either.

“Thereafter at press conferences, is the other place people know me. At press conferences there is still a match to play. It's a game.

“People do not know me as a friend, a family man, as a Coach in my group, the relationship I have with the people who work in the club.

“I'm not complaining and I'm not saying that people are wrong. I love being with my family on the street like a normal person, but I cannot. So I'm a completely different person in my private life.”

Mourinho's side take on Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday.
