Earlier this week, Isco was confirmed to need a second surgery on the leg injury he sustained in May. He will miss the next 3-4 months as a result, and to make matters worse for Real Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini, he is losing another attacking option in Rodri Sanchez, who is set to move to Qatar.
Things could have got even worse for Betis on Friday. As per Diario AS, Juanmi suffered an ankle twist during training, which had sparked fears of another attacking option being unavailable to Pellegrini.
Fortunately, Juanmi’s injury is not serious. It is only a slight ankle sprain, and the expectation is that he will be back in training at the start of next week.
Pellegrini need all the good news he can get at the moment. Betis are certainly short in attacking positions because of Isco’s setback and Rodri’s transfer, so having Juanmi still available is a very welcome boost.
