La Liga side in talks for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler has failed to make his mark at the Parc des Princes since moving in the summer of 2022 for €18m from Valencia. Luis Enrique seemed the right man to get the most out of him, having included him in his Spain World Cup squad in 2022, but it now looks as if he will be on his way out.

However with his cachet having dropped, and a sizeable salary of somewhere between €6-8m per annum, a move looks difficult. Footmercato say the most likely solution is a loan with PSG still paying part of his salary. Real Sociedad are in pole position for the 27-year-old and are pushing for a deal, but Aston Villa and Villarreal are also interested, and Soler could end up at the side that offers to pay the most.

Soler would add to an already stacked midfield at La Real, but Anoeta may be concerned that his arrival could be a symptom of a potential departure for one of their stars, such as Mikel Merino or Martin Zubimendi. The ex-Valencia starlet played just 1,275 minutes this season, starting 14 games.
