Alaves join race to sign wantaway Real Sociedad striker

Many heavy-hitters have been linked with a move away from Real Sociedad in the summer, including the likes of Martin Zubimendi, Robin Le Normand and Mikel Merino. Club bosses are keen to retain all of their services, and will instead look to move on those that are out of favour.

One player destined to leave is Umar Sadiq, La Real’s record signing from two summers ago. The Nigerian striker has struggled for prominence since returning from an ACL tear, and he has asked to leave in search of regular first team football.

According to Diario AS, Alaves have enquired about signing Sadiq in the summer. Luis Garcia Plaza’s side will need a new striker when Samu Omorodion returns to Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

Alaves have good relations with Real Sociedad, so there’s a good chance that they will be ahead of other clubs in the race. Getafe have also been linked with Sadiq in recent months.
