In recent weeks, rumours have spread that Real Madrid are lining up Florian Wirtz as their leading target for the 2025 summer transfer window. Their hopes of landing him have now taken a significant boost.
As per Relevo, it has been decided that Wirtz will not leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer under any circumstances. He’s been linked with numerous clubs across Europe – most notably in the Premier League – but for at least another 12 months, he will be staying with the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions.
Following news of Toni Kroos’ retirement at the end of the season, Wirtz is seen as being a possible long-term replacement for his fellow countryman. There was no plans for Real Madrid to make a move this summer, and that still hasn’t changed with Kroos’ decision, but discussions will be held in the lead-up to next summer over a possible transfer then.
Wirtz would be a top, top signing for Real Madrid, and he’d furtherly improve their Galactico-esque squad. This will certainly be one to keep an eye on in 2025.
