Real Betis star’s future likely to depend on Leeds United’s possible Premier League promotion

Marc Roca has been a fine addition to Real Betis’ squad this season. The former Espanyol and Bayern Munich pivot arrived on loan last summer from Leeds United, who had just been relegated from the Premier League, and he has since gone on to make 35 appearances in the green and white.

Roca had been untouchable for Betis at the start of the campaign, although a recent injury has meant that he is no longer considered in that category, with Johnny Cardoso and Guido Rodriguez as options for Manuel Pellegrini, alongside William Carvalho and Sergi Altimira.

Betis are considering their options for next season, and Roca is likely to be at least re-pursued in the summer, when he returns to Leeds. As Diario AS have reported, another move could depend on whether the Yorkshire-based club achieve promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

If Leeds stay in the EFL Championship, there is a greater chance of Roca remaining at Real Betis, possibly in a permanent capacity. However, the price would need to be right in order for that to be an actuality.
